HL312 Chrome Heating Element (250 Watt)

 ‘ELECTRIC ONLY’ HEATING ELEMENT INSTALLATION

1. IMPORTANT. Always switch off the electricity supply at the mains during installation and maintenance. We recommend that the fuse is withdrawn or circuit breaker switched off at the distribution board whilst work is in progress.
2. The element must be fitted to the towel radiator before mounting the radiator onto the wall.
3. Wrap P.T.F.E tape around the element thread and the blanking plug thread.
4. Check that the o-ring is present on the threaded end of the element.
5. Insert the electric heating element into the chosen side of the towel radiator and tighten it into place.
6. Insert the blanking plug into the open tapping, and tighten it into place.
7. Using a mix of 80:20 Water and Glycol (Anti Freeze) fill towel radiator to 95% level to allow for expansion.
8. Fit the towel radiator to the wall, following the Manufacturers fitting instructions.
9. Connect the element to the mains power using an Approved Fused Connection Unit. The wires should be connected as follows:
Blue- NEUTRAL,
Brown – LIVE,
Green/Yellow – EARTH. THIS PRODUCT MUST BE EARTHED.
10. The Fused Connection Unit should be fitted with a 5 Amp fuse.
11. Switch on mains supply and test. Open the air vent and allow the towel radiator to heat up. When the operating temperature has been reached close the air vent, the towel radiator is now ready for use.
DUAL-FUEL’ INSTALLATION, CENTRAL HEATING AND ELECTRIC ELEMENT
It is recommended that the installation is carried out by a Registered Plumber and Qulified Electrician.
1. You must make absolutely certain that the system is THOROUGHLY flushed before it is commissioned to rinse out Metal Fragments that may be present in the Heating System, the system must also be thoroughly vented.
Not doing this can cause pinhole leaks (not covered under the manufacturers
Guarantee). To help prevent internal corrosion and lime scale formation it is recommended that a suitable inhibitor be added to the central heating system.
2. Always switch off the electricity supply at the mains during installation and
maintenance. We recommend that the fuse is withdrawn or circuit breaker switched off at the distribution board whilst work is in progress.
3. The element must be fitted to the towel radiator before mounting the towel radiator onto the wall
4. Wrap P.T.F.E tape around the element thread and the T-Piece thread.
5. Check that the o-ring is present on the threaded end of the element.
6. Screw the element into the T-Piece and tighten it into place.
7. Insert the T-Piece with electric element into the chosen side of the towel radiator and tighten into place
8. Fit the towel radiator to the wall, following the Manufacturers fitting instructions.
9. Connect the radiator valves to the Element T-piece and open end of the towel radiator.
10. Connect the Radiator valves to central heating loop.
11. Open the valves to the radiator and allow to fill. Use the air vent to purge the air from the radiators.
12. Connect the element to the mains power using a Fused Connection Unit. The wires should be connected as follows:
Blue- NEUTRAL,
Brown – LIVE,
Green/Yellow – EARTH.
THIS PRODUCT MUST BE EARTHED.
11. The Fused Connection Unit should be fitted with a 5 Amp fuse.
12. Switch on mains supply and test. The towel radiator should heat up. Check for leaks and re-tighten joints as required.
